Another great option is a carbide toll from easy wood tools. They have many different tools and tips available. From square, to pointed, to round, maybe even an oval one. In this Wood Turning Video I am introducing you to one of the more easy to use turning tools. I talk about a Wood Turning parting tool. They come in many sizes and do a very different job of cutting wood a strait and square groove in the wood. This is cut but different from a spindle gouge or a bowl gouge which cut and slice in long patterns. The advantage of the parting tool is to get a nice square cut. This is use to remove or part pieces off the lathe when you are done turning them please be careful when using this tool as it is being used to remove a piece from a spinning lathe.
